Events in 2018 


January 6th - Catch Your Breath Luncheon - The Chicks will be gathering for our annual “Catch your breath lunch” at Pinhead Susan’s at noon on January 6th.  The address is 38-40 Broadway in Schenectady.  We will be in a separate area and we will order from the menu with separate checks.  As usual this is a very relaxed lunch to give us all time to catch up with each other after a busy holiday season. 

We will also meet for dinner later in the month of January.  Maybe try out some of the new places in the area.  Let’s keep January 24th open and we can decide where at lunch on the 6th.

Anyone with suggestions for some things to do in 2018 let me know.  We will try for a meeting in Feb or March.


Save the Date - January 24th  - Message from Marty

Yankee Trails has a trip to go to NYC for a  Dowton Abbey exhibition.  It is advertised as experiencing the history, the fashion and the house in Times Square in NYC.

I am not sure how many of us watched the show on TV but I know some did.

There is a tour in Dec and one in January.  I am sure December is just too busy but a day in the city in January might be fun.  It is January 24th and the internet cost is 89.00.

If interested let Marty know.  We will each make our own arrangements with Yankee Trails.


February 10th - Saratoga Paint and Sip Party


On Saturday, February 10th between 1 and 3 pm, Kathy Roseelo has booked a private party for us to attend the Saratoga Paint and Sip which is located in the Newton Plaza in Latham, NY.

The cost is $35.00 per person. This seating fee includes everything you need to create a one-of-a-kind painting in a 2-hr. period.

You will be instructed to paint a one-of-a-kind masterpiece! The atmosphere is laid back and relaxing.. it’s all about having a GOOD TIME!

All you need to bring is yourself!  The Studio will provide everything: paint, canvas, brush and apron. Come to the studio a few minutes early so you can grab a drink. 

The studio have a selection of beer, wine, soft drinks and water for sale at our in-studio bar!

Due to the reason that the studio does request a downpayment to reserve our private party, if you want to attend, please mail me your check in the amount of $35.00 payable to Linda Pflieger, 336 Shirlwood Drive, Schenectady, NY  12306.  

I would appreciate a prompt response that you plan to attend so we can let the studio know how many will attend.

February 18, 2018  - Save the Date

Tony and Tina's Wedding -  Red Hat Event 

Our Chapter has enjoyed hosting many events as Milestone Birthdays, Mother of the Bride shower Happy Retirement Party and a Baby shower why not celebrate a Wedding!   

Based on a traditional Italian-American wedding and reception, with warm and intrusive stereotypes exaggerated  of immerse comedy show staged as an evening of nuptials for two Italian-American families from different sides of the tracks. What can go wrong does go wrong in this we will see as we will all be part of the families. We all will get in involved in this Fun Faux wedding.   

Tina Sawyer will be our Tina and we are on the look out for Tony!   Tina's fortune prediction is that she will be married on 2.18.18!  Will her prediction come true?  This event is in the planning stages. All suggestions are welcome.  More information to follow.
