A Magical World: The Aft of Jacob Houston
Greenwich (Washington County) native Jacob Houston has charmed audiences thoughout the Northeast with his idyllic land- and cityscapes and detailed glimpses into everyday life. With bright colors and enamel-like scenes, he romanticizes the places he travels, re-creating the world as he sees it - full of joy, wonder, and beauty.
Houston's artwork has been exhibited throughout the region, at LARAC's Lapham Gallery, Saratoga Arts Center, Washington County Farm Museum, Green Bridge Gallery, Historic Salem Courthouse, and Southern Vermont Arts Center. His reach extends into Vermont and Massachusetts and, increasingly, New York City. He has twice been included in the National Society Of Casein & Acrylic Painters' exhibit on at Salmaaundi Club in Manhattan.
For your entertainment, there are several places to stop before/ after lunch or the museum. The very popular designer outlets next door to the Log Jam open at 10:00 am on Sunday's. Also, there are several antique and consignment shops in the area.

visited last year in Maine. It is called
the Franciscan Guest House. They really
had a wonderful time and thought members of our group would also be interested
in staying there.
After
a discussion on what months would be good, September was chosen. Several ladies
are planning to go on this adventure during 9/6-9/10. Some will be staying two
days and some have decided they will be staying three in order to take in some
sightseeing. The rates are lower and
much of the summer vacationers to Maine will be gone for home. If you are interested in attending please
contact the Franciscan guest house directly.
