A Note from our Queen
As most of you know October is the
month we collect dues of 12.00 for the year. At our last meeting we
talked about a couple of things we can do with the money we have in
our “Chick” account. We only use these funds for such expenses as
the yearly renew of our chapter with RHS and in the past we used the money to
help with the cost of our pins and the Chick bags. Some of us thought we
would like visors with Glitzy Chicks embroidered on them and some thought
they would like to do some sort of food treat.
With this in mind we had a few visors
made up. The cost is 10.00 each. We will use half dues money and
the other half will be purchased by anyone who wishes to have one. Linda
will have them and be selling them for 5.00. I think she has more of the
bags also 5.00. The pins are gone.
For the food choice we will arrange to
have our Christmas party at Shirley’s catered. We will have a couple of
hot dishes along with some extras and dessert will be included. Shirley
is happy with our plan and is looking forward to as many as possible to come
and enjoy her festive home.

-Fall Lake George Red Hat Luncheon Cruise
aboard the Luc du Saint Sacrament Boat
The Chicks
boarded the boat for the Red Hat Day Cruise on Lake George
for a fun day. A big thank you to Tina
Sawyer for collecting the money and organizing and reserving the main floor
seating for our group of 20 ladies and making sure everyone had a ticket to
board.
Brenda Earhart won
the twist dance contest and Tina and Barb were back up singers to the band
during one of the songs.
Riding Hy Resort Weekend
Friday—Sunday, September 19—21, 2014
Chucky
planned a fun Red Hat weekend for our chapter, a Red Hat Weekend at the
Ridin-Hy Ranch
Resort on Sherman Lake .
Our weekend was everything Chucky told us it would be. Upon our arrival we
enjoyed lunch in the main dining of the lodge and then we enjoyed boarding the
pontoon boat for a riding around the lake.
We came back and enjoyed sitting around the lodge’s fireplace in cozy
furniture where we all could relax. There was an activity board in the main
lodge that listed that activities were going on and the times. We enjoyed the rodeo, took wagon wheel
rides, several of us went horseback riding and all walked around the ranch to
see the horses and surrounding. Saturday afternoon we went swimming in the indoor
heated pool and relaxed in the hot tub.
That night we enjoyed a fun game of Bingo and then enjoyed listening and
dancing to the band that played both Friday and Saturday evening. Thank you, Chucky for being our perfect
hostess and organizing and planning the weekend and for making it a special
time we all will remember being together on Sherman Lake .
