The Schenectady Light Opera Company Is Presenting 

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum Musical

Attire: Black attire with White Hat or Black Hat and Bling

This light, fast paced, witty farce takes comedy back to it roots.  A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is a non-stop laugh-fest, filled with plot twists, cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors and a showgirl or two!

Gayle Carhide has organized and is hosting this event.  If you are planning on attending, please send your check in the amount of $20.00  made payable to Gayle Carhide -2536 Turner Avenue, Schenectady, NY 12306 no later than March 10th.

After the show we will be having dinner at  Pinhead Susan's which located on North Broadway in Schenectady.  Gayle spoke with with the manager and has arranged that we will be receive separate checks that evening and they will be reserving tables for our group.  Pinhead Susan's is in very close proximity to the SLOC theatre and Pinhead's will be where we will be parking for the SLOC event.  Please let Gayle know if you are planning to go to Pinhead Susan's after the show so she can add your name to our reservations.  

If you are not attending the show, but want to meet our group for dinner after the show at Pinhead's, Gayle has made the reservations for 4:30 PM and you are welcome to join us for dinner just contact Gayle to let her know what you are planning to do so she can include you.

Shaker Ridge Country Club Directions From the South- From Interstate 87 – (the Northway) take exit 4- Wolf Road/Albany Airport. Meal Choices: Grilled Chicken Breast, Herb Roasted Sirloin or Four Cheese Ravioli.  All meals come with potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls & butter, coffee, tea and Cheesecake for dessert. Cost $30.00.

Sunday hours are dependent on the room availability.  (ID required to enter)


YOU MUST BE A REGISTERED GUEST AT THE CONVENTION TO BE ALLOWED TO THE VENDORS LANE. YOU WILL HAVE TO SHOW YOUR REGISTRATION ID CARD TO BE ALLOWED IN.

We have all kinds of fun things to do during the convention, i.e. our “FAMOUS WHITE ELEPHANT” bag sale, many raffle baskets & prizes, many free baskets and prizes, a special raffle for the ladies that get their registrations in by March 15th, special lottery tree raffle for each lady that puts a $2.00 lottery scratch off ticket on the tree, 50/50 and so much more.

Sunday PJ breakfast will have a full breakfast buffet and will start serving at 9:00 a.m. with raffles and prizes to follow breakfast and many more surprises.

We will have a special prize for our “Slipper Contest”-
Categories are:
Most Elegant
Best All-Around
Most Outrageous

Prizes will be awarded in each category.

We have worked with the hotel to offer a special rate for those that wish to stay over. The hotel is offering both Single & Double rooms at $139.00 a night plus taxes and they do not charge for extra people in the room.

The hotel is located in the Clifton Country mall and has access to the mall for your shopping experience. You can pick up a quick snack or late dinner at the Food Court in the mall. We also offer many restaurants, a movie theater and much more in the area. It is about 20 minutes from either of our casinos (the Saratoga Racino or the Schenectady Rivers casino).  

It is not essential that you stay at the hotel but if you wish there will be a special code (the hotel has not assigned it yet) given to our registered guests to receive the special rate.
Talk to your friends and make it a mini weekend get-away and meet up with some new friends and get reacquainted with some old friends and join us for a fun packed weekend and celebrate our Hatting experiences.

If you attended our last convention you know we ladies know how to party and have a wonderful time so come join us for this one.

DRESS CODE: SATURDAY LUNCHEON: Wear your best red & purple outfit and matching HAT (fascinators are allowed) and strut your stuff. Remember ladies “BLING” matters.

SUNDAY PJ BREAKFAST: Wear your red/purple PJ’s or lounge wear i.e. robe, sweats etc. and come party with us.  We have a fun filled day planned.

Basket Contributions should be left at the registration desk.  Please mark your gift with your chapter name and your queen’s name so your chapter can be recognized at the drawing.  We are asking each attending chapter to bring a gift card, gift basket, or gift item valued at $25.00 or more to be used in the Basket Raffle.

A NOTE FROM MARTY-   FLYER WAS SHARED WITH THE CHICKS AT THE VALENTINE DINNER ON FEB 12TH

This is a save the date for our Chicks Christmas party.  We are planning a dressy and fun Christmas gathering on December 5th 2020.  I know it is early but a few groups are already filling in dates so we need to get ours on your calendars.  If anyone has suggestions for a place to have it or things we would like to include let me know.  This is your party so let me know what we can plan to make it fun for you. If there is anything you would like to plan for the party let me know that also.
